Academy Awards Screening Party

Sun, Feb 26 at Doors 6:45PM  Show starts at 8PM      FREE

Join the skint at Littlefield in Gowanus for our third annual FREE screening party of the 89th Academy Awards.

Facebook event:

Jimmy Kimmel is hosting this year, which means we can expect at least one joke attempt about Brooklyn hipsters. And if 20-time nominee Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech was any indication, we just know she’ll have something equally powerful to say if she wins tonight. Add this to the fact that nominations this year include more non-white artists in front of and behind the scenes than ever before, and this is shaping up to be a pretty solid year for the awards show.

So, what does “free” buy you? The best-looking crowd in town, duh. Feel free to dress up for the red carpet entrance! Plus, since we’re showing the awards on a big screen, we decided to get fancy: think champagne (get a free glass with RSVP here), themed drink specials, voting ballots to cast your guesses for the wins (most correct wins a prize), a photo booth, and as much fresh-popped popcorn as your movie-loving heart desires.

The official awards ceremony starts at 8:30pm, but doors will open at 6:45pm so you can get there early enough to catch a seat and the red carpet pre-show — or be asked about your outfit by our very own red carpet interviewers.

The Second Annual ‘It’s Friday, I’m (Not) In Love: Anti-Valentine’s Day Party’

Fri, February 10, 2017     Tickets are $6 in advance | $10 at the door
10:00 PM EST

The last thing you need to worry about in 2017 is Valentine’s Day, a made-up holiday about a four-letter word. Avoid all the mushy stuff and dance your way into oblivion at Littlefield on Friday, February 10, as we celebrate singledom.

DJ Gordon Gloom (Feeling Gloomy, YDH2S) will be crowding the floor with songs of heartache and desire from the 80s to today, $6-8 drink specials will keep you (in)appropriately lubricated, a cleansing anti-love ritual will provide closure and catharsis, and our photo booth will prove to your ex(es) that you’re totally doing just fine on your own really just fine thank you very much.

Wear black. All black. Need a reason? Every living thing on earth dies alone. Creativity will be rewarded.

The rest is up to you. Rebel. Renew. Rebound.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Fri, Mar 17, 2017   11:00 AM      FREE

No St. Patrick’s Day in NYC would be complete without staking out a spot at this parade, which makes another glorious march up Fifth Avenue. (The event is even older than the United States; it was started by a group of homesick Irish conscripts from the British army in 1762.) More than 2 million onlookers are expected to show up for the annual spectacle. Fifth Ave from 44th St to 79th St.
